WHY I DON'T CARE AND WHY I THINK YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER

Let me explain. My name is Noah Spee, I’m a strong believer that fashion does not have a gender and should be used accordingly. Not only do I believe that fashion has no gender, but I think that it is also a way of self-expression. Self-expression is important for a number of reasons. It allows us to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and ideas to others. Another thing it can do is improve individual self-esteem and confidence. Fashion is a huge part of expressing your ideals to the world. But the important thing is to know how to convey those ideals THROUGH fashion .

Like I mentioned before, clothes tell an important story of who you are. They can show where you work, they can show if you’re living life to the fullest, but they can also show individuality or being your own person. A trait which I think is very important to have in the way we live our lives. Because if we don’t know who we want to be that day, how will anybody else know? I’m saying “that day” specifically, because I’m convinced that fashion can also control how we feel each day. On one day we can dress like a rainbow if we want to while we can wear an all-black outfit the next. It all depends on how we feel and what we want to exude that day. But, if we feel uncomfortable in what we’re wearing, people will notice.

WHY WOULD YOU CARE?

There’s a lot of people in the world that are scared to wear what they feel comfortable in. Whether that’s because they worry about what other people think, or that they don’t want to draw too much attention to themselves. It could even be because they’re scared that they’ll get beat up. But the thing is, other people will always have an opinion about you so why not stop caring about other people’s opinions and start caring about your own? I know it’s easier said than done and people say it all the time but there’s definitely some kind of truth to it. You have the right to be yourself as much as the next person.

I also used to be scared to really express myself the way I wanted to. Society’s view on what “men” should wear was a great part of it. Luckily for me, I found the right circle of people that supported me to truly be me (outside of my family). Sadly, some people aren’t as fortunate. There are boys that want to wear skirts, there are girls that want that buzzcut and there are some people that don’t even want to be put in a box. This is all fine but they can’t be who they want to be because of society. Don’t get me wrong, nowadays people are way more accepting then even 5 years ago but we as people still have a long way to go.

IT'S ABOUT YOU

To sum up what I’m trying to say, just wear whatever the f**k you want if it makes you feel like your best you. I also wear what I feel comfortable in even though the looks I get are nothing short of excessive. I refuse to let these looks get to me because I feel powerful and confident when I wear something I feel comfortable in. I want everyone to be able to feel this way because in the end, it’s most important that we feel happy with who we are and not if other people are happy with who we are.
